She is committed to ensuring that the charity supports the provision of life skills and activities to enrich the experiences of both cadets and adult volunteers and is constantly looking for ways that support from the charity can evolve to better benefit them.

He served overseas for 16 years and as a qualified air battle, joint warfare and weapons specialist, saw service in 5 theatres of operations. He retired from regular service in 2009. From 2010-2014 he served as a RAF Volunteer Reserve pilot taking cadets on air experience flights.

Since 2013 he has been involved with the Air Cadet Organisation as Chair of the Central & Eastern Region, served as a member of the Management, Finance and Strategy Boards and held a seat on the Air Cadet Council. In 2016 he became a Trustee of the ATC General Purpose Fund and then National Chair of the ATC. In 2022 he was appointed Chair of Trustees of the Air Cadet Charity.

Sir David became Chairman of the UK Accounting Standards Board (ASB) in 1990 and the first Chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in 2001.

Knighted in 1994 and inducted into the Accounting Hall of Fame in 2013, Sir David is also a member of both the Financial Services Professional Board and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and is a Visiting Professor of Accounting at both Strathclyde University and the University of Edinburgh as well as current Chairman of East Lothian Young Carers.

Victoria has skills in planning, delivery, events, demos, business change, communications, stakeholder management and HR. In her present role, Victoria has additional responsibilities as a Gateway Reviewer as part of a voluntary group that assesses large government projects (independent from the department they sit in). She is also an innovation coach and helps people within projects to use innovation to improve their delivery. Victoria is also a uniformed member of staff in the Air Cadet Organisation, receiving her commission in the RAF ATC as an officer in 2009. She has undertaken leadership and management training in her role, as well as qualifications/experience in adventure training, aviation and first aid.

More recently, Stuart has been SW Yorkshire Wing Chair, where he introduced the ‘Wing Exec’ concept, WSO Budgeting, CWC Training Courses, quantitative analysis of CWC activities and screening of potential CWC members. It was at SW Yorks Wing that Stuart introduced Financial Procedures policy for both Sqns and Wing as well as online banking. He oversaw the transfer of the Wing to being a Registered Charity and developed stable funding sources for Wing reserves, introduced project loans and band equipment schemes for Sqns as well as overseeing the introduction of Staff Development funding schemes.

Stuart then went on to become North Region Chair, heading up a team to produce a national syllabus for CWC training and he now holds the position of both National Chair and Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee where his responsibilities include delivering an alternative Charitable structure for Squadrons and Wings, ensuring national compliance with Charities Commission requirements by all units, developing a national accounting framework and moving all Wings towards Registered Charity Status.

‘’Serving as a volunteer for cadets is a privilege; it was over 60 years ago when I first started as a cadet, nearly 50 years ago as an adult volunteer, and since then I have seen the cadet programme grow and strengthen. It continues to provide opportunities for young people that will prepare them with life, teamwork, and leadership skills. Being a Trustee of an organisation which supports over 45,000 young people in it, as well as 11,000 adult volunteers is an honour and committing time and effort to help cadets learn and excel is very rewarding.’’

Mark’s first job out of the Royal Air Force was as an Operations Director in central government. He then spent 16 years with PwC where he had a senior role in leading or assuring the delivery of national and international complex and high risk transformation programmes for public and private sector clients.

Mark took the lead trustee role, working with Jess, to transform the General Purposes Fund to become a fully independent grant making charity. He is motivated by the positive difference he believes the charity can make in terms of supporting all cadets (regardless of geography or background) to help them grow in confidence, resilience and find a sense of purpose in an increasingly complex world. He has a particular interest in raising awareness of the benefits/challenges of neuro diversity as it relates to young people.

In investment banking he advised and managed complex institutional clients and also took a leading role on the public offering of a number of European owned companies. He is a chartered fellow of the Securities Institute and has an MA in economics and economic history from Edinburgh University.

He is the CEO of a medium size charity and also helps to  turn around charities to help them perform better. Mike has been on the Board of Trustees for the Air Cadet Charity for five years.

Norman is a graduate of Heriot- Watt University where he was appointed an Honorary Professor and is an alumnus  of the Harvard Business School.

He is a past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, a former chairman of the British Venture Capital Association, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, a Freeman of the City of London and was awarded a CBE in the 2022 New Year’s Honours List for services to the Arts. He is currently chair of the ICAS Foundation which provides bursaries and mentors to socially disadvantaged young people who have the talent and ambition to attend university and then train as a chartered accountant. Norman has chaired two FTSE 100 companies and served on the boards of a range of companies over many years including Bristow Helicopter Group.

At this stage in his life his pro bono and charitable work is centred on the arts and in supporting young people achieve their ambitions by helping to provide the opportunities available to him in his formative years. He and his wife Pam have been supporters of the Flying Aces Scheme for many years and have been inspired by the difference it has made to deserving young people.
